There is a good news for all the iPhone fans in India.The latest iPhone 3GS is going to be launched in India in August,09. Apple had issued a guideline that the latest iPhone 3GS will be launched in India in August, but Apple refused to specify the date of launch and pricing for the Indian market.There are two different variants for the new iPhone 3GS launched in US for following Pricing:
1. 16GB - $199
2. 32GB -$299
But Indian market will likely to miss the lower prices of the iPhone,the reasons for not giving the price cut for Indian market is not clear as we have seen at the time of launch of iPhone 3G.The reason for iPhones to be cheaper in US is the subsidies provided by the solo handset provider in US i.e. AT&T.Only Vodafone and Airtel provides the iPhone 3G and apple will again launch its new 3GS in India through these telecoms giants.As iPhone is gaining popularity day by day it seems apple will finally able to make a hold at the Indian market.so why there is so much of hype about iphone 3GS, lets take a sneak peak

@mr. sahil, thanxs for help,yes there is no 8GB version of u iPhone 3GS….but the prices for new 8GB iPhone 3G is slashed to $99 which is an improved version of old iPhone 3G….i will surely put an update about the launch of 3GS in India…you can get updates through email also if you have subscribed the updates.
The release date for iPhone in India is 9th of August as it is in many countries..

you can contact Airtel or Vodafone they are the only legel iPhone 3G Provider in India….otherwise you can get it from the mobile's grey markets in India.

I went to airtel showroom on 7th and checked with them.
They said the Blackberry is being launched on 7th in Bangalore.
I really wish they come with the 3GS on 16th/17th @ 32000/- as rumored. We Indians cannot have options. I am sad.

There is no such official announcement about the iPhone 3GS from Airtel.
I heard iphone 3gs would be available after diwali.

I have checked with Airtel yesterday. The only iphone officially available in India is iphone 3G 8Gb for Rs 29500.
This one is a locked variant. They have no clue abt the 3Gs neither does Vodaphone.
I'm planning to get an unlocked version from US i.e. 32GB 3Gs.
