The DNS(Domain Name Server) Server address is also provided by your ISP (Internet Service Provider) which is obtained automatically by your computer but If you want to configure or change your DNS (Domain Name Server) settings in Windows XP for your computer ,all you need to do is follow these simple steps.There are many ways to change the DNS but we will cover only the simplest one.
1. Select Control Panel from the Start Menu.
2. Select Network Connections in the Control Panel.
3. Select your current/default Local Area
Connection from the Network Connections.
4. Click open Properties in General Tab.
5. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and open its Properties.
6. Select the radio button Use the following DNS server
addresses and type in your Preferred DNS server address and Alternate DNS
server address respectively.
Changing DNS server in Windows XP
1. Start Menu>>ControlPanel

2.Control Panel >> Network Connection.

3. Network Connections >> Local Area Connection.

4. Click Open Properties.

5. Properties >> Internet Protocol(TCP/IP).

6. Select the radio button Use the following DNS server addresses and type in yourPreferred DNS server address and Alternate DNS server address respectively.
